Eligibility Criteria for GSSSB Library Clerk
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply:
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science (or Library Science) from a recognized University or Institution.
- Computer Knowledge: Basic computer application knowledge as prescribed by the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Language Proficiency: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
Age Limit (as of 30 December 2025):
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 35 years
- Age Relaxation: Applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) and women candidates as per Gujarat government rules.

Salary and Pay Scale: Library Clerk
Candidates selected for the Library Clerk (Granthalay Karkun) position will be appointed on a fixed pay basis for the initial five years:
- Fixed Pay (First 5 Years): Rs. 26,000/- per month.
- After 5 Years: Upon successful completion of five years, candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200) as per the 7th Pay Commission.
